Eligibility Requirements
To participate in EcoTech Emerge, you must:
- Be a Bachelor’s (at least 2nd year) or Master’s student
- Study Engineering, Business, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics and other Sciences
- Location: worldwide (Team members must be studying in the same Region for the duration of the challenge.)
- Be proficient in English (the Grand Finale pitch will be presented in English.)

- The first team will win: £8,000

Third Prize:
- The third team will win: £4,000
Final Pitching Day
On final date, finalists will be invited for the chance to pitch your idea virtually to an expert judging panel, consists of key decision makers of Company, who will then select the winners of the Student Challenge!

2025 Opportunities List
The challenge is five-step process, taking you from concept to competition, with the chance to win big and make a difference!
The evaluation criteria:
- Sustainability impact: Does your idea help make the world greener, fairer, or move us closer to net-zero?
- End-user value: Have you really thought about the people who will use your solution and what they actually need?
- Solution innovation: Is your idea fresh, creative, and different from what’s already out there?
- Technical & commercial feasibility: Could your solution realistically work in the real world and be something people or businesses might adopt?
1# Application Phase
Deadline: 02 November 2025 – Midnight (GMT)
Start by forming your team and registering for the challenge. Upload your CV/resume, create a diverse and talented team, and submit your brilliant, sustainability-focused tech idea. You’ll need around 5 slides to describe your concept and development plan.
2# Shortlisting Phase
Start & end date: 03 November 2025 – 16 November 2025
Sit back and relax while our AVEVA experts review and score all submitted ideas. No action is needed from you during this phase.
3# Mentoring Phase
Deadline date: 07 December 2025 – Midnight (GMT)
2025 Opportunities List
If your team is one of the 20 selected, you’ll be paired with leaders and subject matter experts from AVEVA. They’ll provide technical and commercial guidance to refine your idea. You’ll need to submit a refined 10-slide presentation and a 1-minute video summarising your idea and approach.
4# Selection Phase
Start & end date: 08 December 2025 – 14 December 2025
An expert panel will select the 10 finalists. All you need to do is wait for the exciting news!
5# Final Phase
Deadline Date : January 18, 2025
Final event, exact date TBC: End of January, 2025
The final push begins! You’ll work with your mentors to perfect your presentation and demonstration. The final event will be streamed online, where you’ll present a 10-minute video of your pitch, accompanied by your slides and any demonstration prototypes. Judges will ask questions, deliberate, and announce the three winning teams.
Deliverables: 10-slide presentation, 10-minute pitch video, and any demo prototypes.

01 September – 02 November: Register, select your category, and submit your idea! - Shortlisting phase
03 November – 16 November: The jury members will evaluate the projects and select the top 20 ideas. - Mentoring phase
17 November – 07 December: The top 20 will be pre-selected and mentored by our professional experts to develop and improve their ideas. - Selection phase
08 December – 14 December: The jury members will evaluate the projects of the 20 pre-selected teams. - Final phase
15 December – 18 January 2026: The 10 best finalists will be chosen to present their project in front of the panel of experts.
